Amid the nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic, most of us are stepping out of the house only to get essentials. But this man from Ghaziabad went out for grocery shopping and returned home with a wife.
Yes, you read it right! To add to this bizarre turn of events, the man’s mother denied the couple entry in the house. In fact, she went to the Sahibabad Police to lodge a complaint against him, news agency ANI reported.
“I had sent my son to do the grocery shopping today, but when he returned, he came back with his wife. I am not ready to accept this marriage,” a teary-eyed mother told ANI.
Guddu, the 26-year-old groom, said that he married Savita two months ago at an Arya Samaj Mandir in Haridwar. “We could not get the marriage certificate at that time due to lack of witnesses. I had decided to visit Haridwar again but could not due to the lockdown,” he added.
Guddu decided to bring his wife home as she was apparently asked to vacate her rented accommodation in Delhi. She was staying there due to the lockdown. However, since his mother refused him entry, the cops had to step in.
“Today I decided to bring her to my mother’s house as she was told to leave the rented accommodation due to lockdown,” Guddu said.
For now, Sahibabad police have asked Savita’s landlord to let the couple stay at the rented place in Delhi.
